Holm Oak fountain pen

#1689 - Beechenhurst Chrome Fountain Pen - Holm Oak

Holm Oak (also known as Holly Oak) is an evergreen oak tree that grows mainly in Mediterranean areas. It is quite a rare wood, and examples showing "flecked" grain are even more rare. I was really fortunate to be able to obtain just ten pieces of this unusual wood. This pen is a particularly gorgeous example.

#1698 - Beechenhurst Chrome Fountain Pen - Ice Pearl & Burl Wood

Natural burl maple wood which has been bonded to an ice pearl resin with deep midnight blue. The wavy junction between the two is the natural burl wood surface, and in places the resin flows into holes and voids in the wood.

The pearl colours were just right for me to make this pen with chrome plated fittings.

A fascinating and beautiful material for a pen.
