Hand Made Wooden Pens by Rodney Neep

The Chepstow is one of my very high quality pens. In traditional desk pen style it has a non-posting cap. Available as either a fountain pen or rollerball pen.

The metalwork is gold and rhodium plated, with fine decorative rhodium plated castings in the lower end band, the centre band, clip and top of the cap. The band castings are a vine with leaves, and the clip has a vine with tiny bunches of grapes.

This style of pen is only available in wood, and as either a fountain pen or rollerball pen.

I only use woods from my "special reserve" for this pen.

The nib is the large type (medium tip), gold plated and with a long lasting iridium tip, made by Bock of Germany.

#662 - Chepstow Fountain Pen - Spalted Elm Burl

Some of the finest spalted elm burl from my special reserve. Rich blondes and creams in a swirly contorted burl grain pattern. Spalting is where the wood has been allowed to go partly rotten, resulting in the pale lines in the grain. Of course, it is impregnated and stabilised as part of the process of making the pen, so it is now very hard. The end result is a stunning pen worthy of any desk and is sure to be admired by all who see it. When you use the pen, be sure to leave the cap on display. It is fascinating from whichever angle you view it.

#661 - Chepstow Rollerball Pen - Tiger Myrtle

Tiger Myrtle has lovely tiger stripes in dark brown and tan. I import this wood specially from Australia, and only a few pieces at a time. The pen is finished with a mixture of shellac and carnauba wax to a satin gloss to enhance the natural appearance of the wood.

#663 - Chepstow Rollerball Pen - Water Buffalo Horn & Amboyna Burl

A very distinctive pen! The main body has segments of amboyna burl wood at each end. The wood is a "gold" colour to match the metalwork.
